Uganda Airlines Plane Runs Out Of Fuel In Tanzania

Passengers aboard the Uganda Airlines plane were last evening delayed at Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar-es Salaam. This went on for a few hours after the plane ran out of fuel. The airlines blamed the delay on the mix-up in fuel delivery to the aircraft at the airport. ‘’Allow us to apologize for the prolonged delay at Julius Nyerere International Airport, Dar es Salaam that occurred yesterday (July 12) on our flight UR 321. Our service was affected by a mix-up in delayed fuel delivery to the Aircraft caused by our supplier in Dar es Salaam,’’ a statement from the Airlines reads in part. The Airlines added that they have taken up the matter with the supplier as of Tuesday morning. This is to avoid further re-occurrence of the same in the future. Sources say the Uganda Airlines plane makes two trips to Dar es Salaam in a single day. In addition to that, the airlines also contracted a permanent fuel supplier at the airport to supply the airline, something that didn’t happen according to plan yesterday. However, anonymous sources say that they terminated the contracts the CEO Cornwell Muleya that they signed earlier. They said this is the reason for the delays yesterday because the airline is still in the process of getting a new contract.
