Former TV presenter and Faridah Nakazibwe’s top nemesis Justine Nameere has been trounced in Member of Parliament race to represent youths in central Uganda. Nameere, a ldaughter of Agriculture Minister, Mr Vincent Bamulangaki Ssempijja lost miserably to Ms Agnes Kirabo who the ruling National Resistance Movement Electoral Commission announced as winner. Nameere performed dismally in several districts, including Kalungu, her home district where she got five out of 13 votes cast. Overall, she came in fourth position with only 35 votes, as Ms Kirabo took the flag with 218 votes. “My dear District gave me five votes out of 13 and I had a tie with Kayihura and someone else got one so I performed well in my district and I am forever grateful to my Kalungu brothers and sisters for standing by me through a chaotic election! I will make a better judgment in a “real election” coming March 2021!,” she said. Other contenders were Joanita Makonzi Nansseko who got 26 votes, Alvin Sembatya who got 28, Mastulah Nakibuule who garnered 75, Felix Kaihura Safari who got 98 and Abdul Kiberu Malik who garnered three. Others are Racheal Namono who got one, Frederick Mujjuzi, Hakim Sharif Mabingo and Victor Timothy Sserunkuuma who all got zero. Nameere said she will contest as an Independent in the 2021 youth election.
“I’m proud to have served the youth through different projects as I sought their leadership! I shall continue to assist the youth wherever I can and I will still go ahead to present my manifesto to the youth. God will be the final Judge in the general election,” she added.
