The hearing of a case in which Gen.Henry Tumukunde is accused of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition has flopped over absence of the trial magistrate.
The case was scheduled to begin today March 30th 2020 but the magistrate, Valerian Tuhimbise never showed up citing the temporary closure and suspension of court hearings and appearances by the chief justice in a bid to prevent the spread of corona virus.
The trial was meant to kick off by video conferencing since the General wasn’t physically present in court. Tumukunde faces four counts including unlawful possession of firearms and ammunitions.
Tumukunde returns on April 14th 2020 to get a ruling of his bail application.
