Outgoing Security Minister Gen. Elly Tumwine who was appointed as a Senior Presidential advisor on security has pledged to advise President Yoweri Museveni to prepare for a smooth transition of power. Tumwine who described Museveni as a visionary and excellent leader of the revolution, said that his focus is now going to be on ensuring the long stability of Uganda. “As take on my new advisory role, I will advise Museveni to prepare for a smooth transition of power for a long-term stability of our country,” said Tumwine while handing over the Security Ministry office to Gen Jim Muhwezi. In his remarks, Muhwezi said; “I thank my friend and a senior comrade Gen Tumwine for a smooth transition. I am not new to this ministry; therefore, I will cooperate with the staff to promote stability and harmony in our country.”General Tumwine is one of the 27 men who started the Uganda Civil War (1981-1986) also known as the Uganda Bush War that brought Museveni into power.
