Dembe Fm and Spark TV presenter Isaac Daniel Katende famously known as Kasuku together with his team “ FRIENDS OF KASUKU “ on December 24th – Christmas eve donated food materials and home supplements to HIV infected Children as one way of touching their lives and giving back to the community in this season of festivities amidst Covid-19.
The donation was done at the HIV infected Children & Youths Foundation home in Kiwamirembe off Entebbe road. The foundation donated to provides food, housing, clothing, medical care and education to over 100 children who are all orphans primarily as a result of HIV/AIDS.
John Kintu, the Executive Director of HIV infected Children & Youths Foundation Home who represented the Foundation thanked Kasuku and his team saying that the donation is a sign of restoring hope, joy and happiness to the vulnerable children who are the victims of HIV/ADS.
“ The situation isn’t as bad as it used to be because there is less stigmatization and we acquire medicines. Our challenge now is with foods and drinks to supplement the medicine which is heavy on our bodies. Children under our care need such love, compassion and support necessary to continue their own development in their formative years. “ Said Kintu.
While handing over the donations, Kasuku thanked all the people who listened to his call and donated to these children. He thanked his workmates Jenkins Mukasa, Edward Ssendi , Medi Kays DJ and Shafic Kayima who were with him on this initiative aswell as his friends like Full Figure amongst others that escorted him to the donation venue.
“I encourage other people to also reach out to such people and help because a lot is achieved when people work together. “ Kasuku added. The over excited children were then treated to live performance from artist Kenneth Mugabi amidst ululations.
