The 6 goals scored by Bull FC against Malaba Youth Development Association (MYDA) confirmed their relegation from the Startimes Uganda Premiere League (SUPL). In the game hosted by MYDA FC at king George 4 stadium in Tororo, MYDA conceded reckless goals due to their poor defending. BUL’s first 3 goals were scored in the first half of the game by Semujju in the 22nd and 44th minute and Okech Simon Peter 40 minutes in. The other three goals were scored in the second half by Musa Esenu in the 51st minute, Ibrahim Mugulusi in the 74th and Ojok Deogracious in the 80th minute. MYDA’s consolation goal was off a penalty scored by Rashid Mpata in the 44thminute. The game ended a cool 1-6 in the favor of BUL FC. However MYDA has 3 more games to play in the SUPL, but statistics show that it can’t survive the relegation zone regardless of their performances. MYDA has 14 points in 27 matches, second last at the bottom of the SUPL table. MYDA is 9 points below the third team in the relegation zone (Kyetume FC at 23 points). MYDA now joins Kitala FC as the second club to be relegated. This was MYDA’s first time to play in Super league in their history, the team conceding the most goals during the season. In 27 games, the team has conceded 76 goals. “As a team our chances of surviving the relegation are done. The team has a lot of problems. I also admit that Covid didn’t leave us the same. Football is football we have nothing to do,” regretted Elisha Madanda, head coach of MYDA FC after the game.
