The National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has appointed John Baptist Nambeshe as the party’s Acting president. Nambeshe is the opposition Chief Whip and NUP’s deputy president, Eastern Region. According to Bobi Wine’s Secretary Sarah M. Muwonge, Nambeshe has been appointed to fill in for Bobi Wine for three weeks while he is out of the country on official duties. “This is to inform you that the Party President Hon. Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert has asked me to notify you that he has designated you as the Acting Party President for three weeks from 20 June, 2021 to 10 July, 2021 while he is out of the country on official duties,” Muwonge said in a 20 June letter to Nambeshe who is the also the Manjiya county Member of Parliament. ” The appointment is made pursuant to article 7.1 (g) of the party constitution,”she added.
