Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) founder Dr Kizza Besigye will not be standing for Presidency in the forthcoming elections. While speaking at the FDC party headquarters in Najjanankumbi, the four time presidential candidate said that FDC has many capable leaders that can competitively carry the party flag and he is currently ready to push the struggle from another front. With Besigye Bowing out, the FDC presidential flag bearer race is now between Wasswa Birigwa and Patrick Amuriat who earlier returned their nomination forms. Many have alleged that Bobiwine’s rise to Politics reduced Besigye’s support in the public hence his fear to contest for presidency again with Bobiwine in the race. This is going to be the first time since 2001 for Besigye not to appear on the national presidential ballot paper. The future of FDC without Besigye in the forthcoming elections remains uncertain as close sources from the party corner reveal that Besigye is the only opposition person who can unseat Museveni.
